Trip to Trichy
I was invited to give a lecture at Trichy University and took the chance to see some places around Trichy and Tanjavur. The big temple in Tanjavur is quite impressive, but what I liked even more: The inner court yard around the actual temple is huge -- so even if quite some people are around it feels empty and quite. The nandi (bull) in front of the temple is indeed huge and might well be the biggest one in India as the guidebook said. The city and palace museum were rather uninteresting, best thing th eview over the city.
